BRIDGES for a Just Community in collaboration with Cincinnati Museum Center will sponsor an exciting fundraising event called, TAKE A SEAT. This event will combine art with social justice under the theme "a place for all at the table." Artistic contributors will create pieces reflecting the social justice mission of BRIDGES that will be auctioned off at the event. Auctioned items will include sculptures, chairs, framed photography, or paintings. The event benefits the many human relations programs for young people and adults provided by BRIDGES throughout the year and underwrites the Museum Center Fountain Fund which supports museum education and access for underserved youth and families. A component of the Public Allies program is the team service project, a 5 month initiative working with a non-profit in the Greater Cincinnati area. Next Generation Creative Class (NGCC) is a group of young professionals striving to transfer their skills in technology, arts, and social media to those in need. A major part of the group's efforts is to incorporate unique art forms to help raise awareness throughout the community about New Life Furniture (NLF). NLF, is a ministry based out of Milford, OH, which delivers gently used furniture to families and individuals in order to make their house a home. The NGCC is working to enhance and further the impact of NLF by increasing its reach to the population they serve in the Greater Cincinnati area. This is an event designed to raise awareness about Public Allies and the team service project. Take a Seat is an event which represents all voices being heard. We want to recognize the great work of local artists, and showcase the work that we do by hosting TAKE A SEAT. This event draws in multi-generational art patrons in the community. | ||||
