| Donald Warner, a Program Manager and the Director of Continuous Learning with the Public Allies Program, joined BRIDGES in June 2009. His responsibilities include coaching a group of 11 young leaders, facilitating the Public Allies Continuous Learning process and supporting other BRIDGES programming related to his areas of interest and expertise.
Originally from Michigan, Donald received his BA in English from DePaul University in Chicago. As a post-graduate, Donald served as a Teach For America corps member in Gallup, New Mexico where he led classes of 2nd and 3rd graders to over three years of growth in reading and math. As a second year teacher, he was selected as a finalist for the Sue Lehman national teaching award. During his term with Teach For America, Donald also led a collaborative of 3rd-5th grade teachers working to close the educational achievement gap. In June 2009 Donald earned an MA in English from the University of Cincinnati where he also taught writing courses. Residents of Cincinnati for three years, Donald and his wife, Kayla currently reside in the Evanston neighborhood. |
