Christine A. Jarman, M.Ed., associate director, BRIDGES for a Just Community
Christine A. Jarman, M.Ed, is the Vice President and COO for BRIDGES for a Just Community. Previously she served as the program director for the past 20 years.

Chris is recognized among her colleagues as a skilled facilitator and innovative program designer. The programs she has developed include the highly successful CommUNITY dialogue program, which was named as a Promising Practice by former President Clinton’s Initiative on Race; successfully bringing the nationally acclaimed youth leadership program, JUST Community Youth Leadership Institute to the Greater Cincinnati area; expansion of BRIDGES’ Police/Youth "Live-In" residential camp program in partnership with the Cincinnati Police Department and Camp Joy; Healing Through History dialogue and community engagement program in collaboration with the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center; and other partnerships with Tri-State Regional Community Policing Institute, Public Allies Cincinnati and Joy Outdoor Education Center.

The Greater Cincinnati Race Relations Council recognized Chris’ work in improving race relations by awarding her the Berry/Gottschalk Award in 1998. In 2001, Chris was recognized as the Outstanding Programmer of the Year, receiving the prestigious Glen Poling Award at the organization’s Annual Leadership Conference.

After graduating from Walnut Hills High School, she received her Bachelors and Masters degrees in Elementary Education from Northern Kentucky University and began teaching in Grant County, Kentucky. She has also provided group sales training for Avon Products and worked for an independent educational consulting group.

Chris is an alumnus of Leadership Cincinnati, has served on the Camp Joy Advisory Board, iSpace Board and currently is an advisory board member for Public Allies.
